Résumé

Cet article s’intéresse au vécu de la maladie dans le texte Le froid de Thomas Bernhard. Il explore et analyse les réactions contradictoires et oppositionnelles du narrateur par rapport à son état de santé, à la vie et à la médecine. Il tente également de comprendre comment le retournement de santé du narrateur devient un facteur qui lui permettra de se forger une nouvelle identité afin de pouvoir vivre et penser comme il le veut.

Abstract

This text deals with the way that sickness is lived in Thomas Bernhard’s book, The Cold. It explores and analyzes the contradictory and oppositional reactions of the narrator when faced with the reality of his sickness, his life and medicine. It also tries to understand how the narrator’s physical remission becomes a way of forging a new identity that will authorize him to live and to think in his own terms.
